Ladies Auxiliary Earns State and National Awards

The Ladies Auxiliary to Lititz Springs VFW Post 1463 earned numerous commendations for attaining or surpassing auxiliary program goals in 2012-2013. At the state convention in Lancaster in June, the Ladies Auxiliary received citations of merit for Veterans and Family Support, Americanism, Hospitals, Cancer Aid & Research, Scholarships, Community Service Reporting, Youth Activities and contributions to the VFW National Home for Children. Department of PA President Sandy Brenner recognized Post 1463’s work on the Walk for PA Wounded Warriors.

Post 1463 Ladies Auxiliary obtained Youth Activities Awards for five local schools whose students participated in Supporting Our Military. The certificates were delivered to each school’s principal.

Ann Scotten was recognized for her editorial duties on the Post NEWSletter. For the second consecutive year, Ann Loechner earned the Department of PA Outstanding Patriotic Instructor Award.

At the national level, Kathy Wiker, auxiliary treasurer, was named Aide-de-Camp for obtaining 28 new or reinstated members in 2012-2013.
